| Several days ago after indoor school work was finished we all headed outdoors for some fresh air and a little P.E. (with Papa giving direction). We walked some trails beside our house before Daniel started the children running laps. But near the end of the walk Emelyne spotted two eagles circling overhead! We all stopped and stood with faces lifted to the wind. Dark clouds filled the sky as we watched the eagles soaring above us. They found a thermal. I watched and wondered at the way they could simply stretch out their wings and rise higher and higher. No difficult flapping of wings, just resting and letting the wind carry them. That day was a particularly difficult one for me. I had lots of questions. I was feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. I was feeling alone. And then God sent eagles. And my husband reminded us all as we stood watching that, "those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength! They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint!" And the eagles went on soaring, a reminder that God wants me to soar too. Life will always have its difficult moments, but I can choose the angle I view it from. I can fight against the wind and flap my wings harder. Or I can put my face to the wind, stretch out my wings and soar! This week I want to learn to soar. . . | | |
| Hmm. I never thought I would be doing this, but the peer pressure was too great! Thanks for the great idea, Esther! Hopefully I can post here some of the things I've written and some of the things that are still in my head and heart but not yet on paper. And it will also give me a place to tell all those funny things that happen in a household where there are 5 children ages 1 to 8. More later. . . | | |
